For twenty years I have been finding the human story inside complex subjects, and more than 400 on-camera interviews with founders, scientists, engineers and people who had never faced a camera have taught me one thing: a documentary works when the person in front of the lens trusts the person behind it. That trust, plus research and an edit that lets the story breathe, is what I bring to every project.

Selected work. Future Food Global Mission (2017) for the Future Food Institute: more than 200 interviews in 10 countries in 60 days on the innovators reshaping sustainable food systems, which became the Food Makers documentary. The Phenomic Age, a feature documentary I filmed and edited. One Foot In, stories of expat women in America. MOVin Sardinia, shot on the island I come from. Calabria, Terra dei Padri for Calabria Straordinaria, and Future Food 4 Climate Change for the Future Food Institute.

I produce short films for nonprofits, schools and institutions, mini-series for brands and foundations, and feature-length documentaries, in English and Italian, for clients in San Francisco, Miami, Austin, Los Angeles and Italy. From research and interviews to the final cut, I direct the whole process so your story reaches the audience it deserves.

How I Work

  • Background research, pre-interviews and a story outline: the character, the problem and what changes. You get a treatment and a budget before we shoot a single frame.

  • Interview-driven storytelling. After more than 400 on-camera interviews with founders, scientists, engineers and people who had never faced a camera, I know how to create the conditions for someone to speak naturally.

  • On location, with a small crew that adapts to the story, from a single day in San Francisco to multi-country productions. Direction, camera, sound and light, in English and Italian.

  • Transcripts and a paper edit first, then rough cut, review cut and fine cut, with color grading, sound design and licensed or original music.

  • Feature or short film plus trailer, vertical clips and subtitled versions in English and Italian, ready for screenings, festivals, web and social media.
